Sound

Besides my work in software, I do live sound engineering and record acoustic music in the folk and balfolk community.

• Live sound for folk balls, concerts, and small festivals. I have my own PA system, digital mixer (Allen & Heath CQ20B), microphones, stands, and wireless headsets.
• Recording & mixing of acoustic ensembles, vocal groups, and duos — in your venue, a church, or at my place. Video possible in collaboration.

This interest also led to Mic Atlas: a web app that lets you compare microphones’ frequency responses and polar patterns, lined up with the ranges of different instruments and voices.

Music

I play violin and viola for dancers in a number of bands. We have experience giving balfolk initiations, both as musicians and as dance teachers. Contact me if you’re interested in making a ball possible. I also occasionally organize small balls myself, at Huis De Pelikaan in Ghent.
